Please tell us as much as you can about the incident, and the events leading up to it, to help us identify if an offence has been
committed.
I was cycling in the bus lane (no faster than the car traffic to my right). There were two or three cars to my right, also
heading northbound (downhill) on Denmark HIll, perhaps 200‒300 yards away from the traffic lights at the junction which
leads to Ruskin Park on the left, and towards Denmark Hill station on the right (east). The lead car appeared to be keeping
within the 20mph. This appeared to be frustrating the driver of the black Mercedes SUV (Reg LO17 LRN). He pulled into
the bus lane to undertake that car in front, without indicating or (it seems) checking mirrors. He accelerated rapidly in
order to do. I was riding in the bus lane at a slightly slower speed than cars to the right. The driver very nearly knocked
me off my bike (which would have caused serious injury or worse), and was completely oblivious to my presence ‒ before
or even after the incident, and so failed to stop after. It appears he was guilty of speeding, driving in a bus lane during
restricted hours, driving recklessly/without due car and attention and/or reckless endangerment.
