Driving at the speed limit on adaptive cruise (30MPH), I noted a vehicle approaching in my rearview mirror at speed, the vehicle closed the gap so quickly, I estimated its speed to be in excess of double the speed limit. The vehicles distance became such that I could not see their headlights in my rearview mirror. As the speed limit increased to 40 MPH, my car adjusted, again the following vehicle maintained what I consider to be an unsafe distance behind me. The speedlimit then reduced to 30MPH and 20MPH to take consideration for a primary school. My vehicle slowed to following the legal limit. At this point (20 MPH), the following vehicle overtook directly outside the said primary school, in excess of the speed limit at an estimate of 40 MPH. The driver gave me the middle finger as they passed. Within 100m, the speed limit became the national limit on such a road of 60MPH, and my car sped up accordingly. A more powerful car than her clio, it wasn't long until I was behind the vehicle, but, maintaining a safe distance (enforced by my car itself). The vehicle had several large vehicles in front of them, also following the speed limit. I could see the driver becoming more and more irate, waving their arms about. As fortune would have it, every turning they took coincided with my own direction of travel as I neared my own home. As they turned down a single track road, I could see the driver was still having a good rant to themselves, before suddenly, they did an emergency stop in the road, blocking my forward egress. The driver got out, and approached my vehicle quickly. I locked my door and looked forward as she shouted at me for following her and driving like a grandfather (Insert swearwords throughout). As I continued to look forwards, she thumped my windscreen, and attempted to open the now locked drivers door. I switched my engine off, opened my door, and took a defensive stance and told her to step back. She screamed at me and said "What the F you going to do about it big man?", to which I replied "I'll restrain you and call the police". She went back to her car and sped off. I gave it a few moments to collect myself before continuing my journey.
