Today, while driving home around 3:00 p.m. from university, I encountered a dangerous driving incident involving a highway maintenance van.
The van was initially driving extremely close behind me on the M56/A494, before abruptly speeding up in the lane to my left. It then cut in front of me without warning, forcing me to brake suddenly to avoid a collision. I was traveling at 70 mph, well within the speed limit, and this reckless behavior put myself and other drivers at risk. After cutting me off, the van continued to sway erratically and tailgate other vehicles.
While I’ve encountered poor driving before, this incident was particularly alarming and genuinely made me fear for my safety and that of others on the road.
I felt it was important to report this, as the van’s behavior could lead to serious accidents. The vans number plate was BJ19 NRV.
